Kempt Tower

Kempt Tower in St Ouen’s Bay on the west coast of the Island was built in 1834 as a defensive tower against possible French invasion. Constructed with Jersey granite, the ground floor was used to store weapons and ammunition whilst the upper floor housed ten troops and their commanding officer.

A cannon was fixed to a rotating platform on the roof. It is a Martello Tower and the only one of its kind surviving in Jersey. The Tower has been sensitively restored to create a stunning, unique self-catering property for up to 12 guests.

The basement houses a fully appointed kitchen and shower rooms. The middle floor is a spacious and comfortable contemporary reception and sleeping area, beds separated by screens, with an open fire. The easily accessed roof provides a unique view of the sweeping bay of St. Ouen and is the perfect spot to enjoy evening drinks, dinner or a barbecue as the sunsets.

The Tower sleeps up to 12 guests and is available for rent throughout the year. Parking is available close by.

Children of all ages welcome.

Dogs allowed. £10 per dog per night, up to a maximum of £50 per dog, per stay.  When booking, please include number of dogs in the Special Request section.

Ground floor: Dining room, kitchen and shower room and toilets.

First floor: Open-plan lounge with log fire and 4 x double/single bunk style beds, each of these sleeping units sleeps up to 3 people and are separated by Japanese screens (please refer to our images).

Second floor: Roof terrace with seating and stunning views.

This property has 2 showers, 2 toilets and 1 disabled toilet.

Bed linen and house towels provided. TV with FreeSat and DVD. 4 rings and oven. Microwave. Fridge. Dishwasher. Washing Machine. Iron and board. Central heating. Cot available on request (Cot linen not provided).

Welcome pack of bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee and sugar.
